Considering a Hair Transplant in Korea? - Get your confidence with a fuller, natural-looking hairline!

Say goodbye to thinning hair and hello to a refreshed image.

Before/Day 233 Post-Op

When we meet someone for the first time, our appearance often shapes that first impression. If you are dealing with hair loss, this can be a major source of stress. It can limit your hairstyle choices, chips away your self-esteem, and makes daily styling a challenge.

Even with careful hair care routines, if you notice thinning, excessive shedding, or your scalp becoming more visible, you should look into the next step!

That’s where a personalized consultation with a specialist can help. Today, let’s explore how a hair transplant in Korea might be the solution you’ve been looking for!

Let's learn about hair transplant in Korea:

On average, we have around 100,000 hairs on our scalp. A portion of those, especially in the back and sides, are genetically resistant to hair loss. These are the areas most often used for harvesting healthy follicles to transplant to thinning zones like the hairline or crown.

There are two main transplant methods, the incisional (FUT) and non-incisional (FUE) methods. During an FUT, a strip of scalp is removed from the back to harvest follicles. It allows for a larger number of grafts but it can require a longer recovery due to stitches. This method also leaves a linear scar, which might put some people off.

On the other hand, FUE involves individually extracting the follicles, with or without shaving the scalp. It's less invasive, leaves minimal scarring, and has become especially popular among those who prefer a more discreet option or faster recovery. However, this method can come with a higher cost.

Types of Hair Loss:

Before choosing a method, it’s important to identify your hair loss pattern!

M-Shape:

Recession at the temples. Often requires a custom design to match angles and direction of natural growth.

U-Shape:

A frontal, central forehead recession that can make you appear older. A carefully designed hairline is key for natural-looking results, while keeping a similar density all around!

Crown Thinning:

Hair loss from the top of the head in a circular pattern. Requires attention to density for natural results.

Male Pattern Combination:

The most advanced form of male hair loss, combining M-shaped and crown thinning. These cases require expert design and technique to maximize results from the limited donor hair.

Before/Day 12 Post-Op

You may want to consider a hair transplant if:

- Your hairline is uneven or receding

- You’re experiencing rapid hair loss

- Your forehead is becoming noticeably wider

- Topical or medical treatments haven’t produced the wished results

If any of the above applies to you, it may be worth considering hair transplantation as an option. However, since the procedure and treatment plan can vary depending on each individual, it’s important to have a thorough consultation and approach it with a well-informed plan. After the transplant, you’ll also receive important post-op care instructions, which should be followed carefully to support a smooth recovery.

Post-Op Instructions:

  • During the first few days: Keep the transplant site clean and dry
  • For up until 2–3 days: Avoid washing the area
  • For about a week: Don’t scratch or irritate the site
  • For about 2 weeks: Avoid intense physical activity, swimming, and saunas
  • Don't pick at scabs; instead, let them fall off naturally.
